I enjoy learning, and leveraging data to understand things. My background is in data science, econometrics, economics and philosophy. This site is where I write up whatever I’m learning or interested in.

Senior Insight Analyst at Heathrow Airport Holdings, ten years in. Currently building a data analytics and agentic AI system for the front-of-house shopping services: the Passenger Ambassadors and the personal shopping team.

Current interests are data science, AI engineering, economics, programming and data visualisation. Most posts start with something I don’t yet understand. I dig in, simplify, experiment until it works, and write it up.

Self-taught in R, and it’s still my favourite language. I was active in LondonR and gave a talk there on automating business email. The group is quieter now, but it’s a good community and I want to give back to it.

Data visualisation is the part I enjoy most: you build something and see straight away whether it works. Influences include Edward Tufte, The Economist, FiveThirtyEight and the Urban Institute’s style guide.

Outside work: live music, food, trail running and swing dancing.
